Peak Cycling UK T&Cs
Booking
Thank you for your booking. Your cycling experience is now booked and paid for (unless you’ve booked onto the Hebridean Highland Adventure, in which case you’ve paid a deposit to secure your place).
Cancellation by us
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your tour we will try and move your booking to another date to suit, or you will be entitled to a full refund of all monies paid. If the tour is cancelled because the minimum number of people required to operate this tour hasn’t been reached then you will be notified no less than 7 days before the tour date (28 days for Hebridean Highland Adventure). If the tour is cancelled by us we will not be responsible for any incidental expenses that you may have incurred such as travel expenses & no compensation will be paid to cover these expenses.
Cancellation by You
If you have to cancel your Tour then please notify us as soon as possible. We always try to be fair and will always try to accommodate you on a different tour date if possible. If you cancel your tour more than 12 weeks before your tour start date then you will fully refunded all monies already paid. If you cancel less than 12 weeks before your tour start date, you will be refunded a percentage of the cost paid, as laid out below. It is for this reason that we strongly recommend that you take out adequate travel insurance to cover this.
-
Cancel between 12 and 8 weeks before the tour date = 50% refund
-
Cancel between 8 and 4 weeks before the tour date = 25% refund
-
Cancel less than 4 weeks before the tour date = no refund
Accommodation
If your cycling tour includes accommodation, the same cancellation policy as stated above stands.
Support on the cycling tour
Peak Cycling’s Road Tours will usually have a Leader on the road with you on a bike, and a van to support the group. Gravel and Mountain Bike Tours have a Leader on the trail with you and on occasion van support also. Peak Cycling offer this support because we want you to get the very best experience, and think that small groups with personal leadership and support is the best way for you to experience the riding the Peak District has to offer. For large groups, of more than 8, an additional Leader will ride with the group, in all tour categories.
Cycle Hire
If you choose the cycle hire option for Road, Gravel and MTB Tours you will be provided with your bike at the start of your tour. The bike comes with everything you need for your trip although some people like you use their own saddle, peddles and/or helmet (just let us know beforehand). At the end of your tour you can simply hand your bike back to us when you finish cycling. Please organise a bike and helmet from the add-on list, and tell us your height and head size, so we bring the right equipment. If you fail to tell us what you need, we will not have the right equipment and will not be able to take you on your tour. In these circumstances, no refund will be offered.
Ride nutrition and meals
Most of our cycling experiences do not include food and drink. Big days out and multi day tours are different and details of food and drinks available will be shared with participants of these trips, and dietary needs collected confidentially.
Minimum Number
If the minimum number of people required to run the tour is not met then we will have to cancel the tour. You will be notified at least 7 days (28 days Hebridean Highland Adventure) prior to the start date of the tour if the minimum number (usually 4 people) hasn’t been met, you will be offered a choice of alternative dates, or receive a full refund of all monies paid. Remember though, we can always arrange a bespoke tour.
Consumer Protection
In order to comply with EU Travel Regulations 1992 your deposit & final payment will be held in a separate account until your holiday is completed. This is to ensure the financial security of your holiday.
Insurance
It is compulsory that you take out adequate holiday insurance including medical cover, personal accident, loss of belongings & cancellation cover. We cannot be held responsible for your own illness, injury or loss/damage of your bike or belongings while on holiday.
EHIC – European Health Insurance Card (for EU nationals travelling in Europe)
For European Nationals joining a Peak Cycling Tour we recommend you send off for one of these before the tour and carry it with you. It’s important to bear in mind that these cards are not a substitute for travel insurance and adequate travel insurance is compulsory for this tour. This link will give you all the information you need about the EHIC. www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcareabroad/EHIC
Safety
Cycling is a potentially dangerous activity & the risks involved should be considered before undertaking such a trip. On road tours we will be cycling mostly on quiet back roads however there will be times when we cycle on busier roads where traffic density is higher. MTB and Gravel Tours are a mix of road, some quiet, some busy, and off road trails. The off road trails will vary depending on the grade of tour chosen, with some MTB tours requiring good mountain biking skills. All persons undertaking this tour do so at their own risk & Peak Cycling cannot be held responsible for any accidents that may occur whilst on the trip.
Contract
By completing your booking form and paying the charge or deposit you agree to the booking conditions as outlined above. Peak Cycling will carry out our obligations as detailed in the tour itinerary & any information supplied to you.
